Ash Wednesday March 6th 7:00

Join us for Ash Wednesday Service March 6th at 7:00 PM

Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Almighty God, you have created us out of the dust of the earth: Grant that these ashes may be to
us a sign of our mortality and penitence, that we may remember that it is only by your gracious
gift that we are given everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Savior.  Amen.
The service of Ash Wednesday invites us to the observance of a holy Lent.
As ashes are imposed on our foreheads Ash Wednesday, we hear the words, “Remember that
you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” With these words, we are reminded of our mortality.
What do we do in the face of that reminder? How do we live fully with the knowledge that one day
we will die? As Christians, how do we embrace and even celebrate our mortality?

Holy Spirit Night at South City Theatre

Godspell – Holy Spirit Fundraiser, March 24th at 7:00 pm

Join us for Holy Spirit Night at South City Theatre! Tickets are $25/person with profits from sales going to Holy Spirit. Purchase tickets HERE or contact the office, 621-3418.

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, “Day by Day,” Godspell features a parade of beloved songs. A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life. Godspell is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.
