A Place Where You Can Belong.
Whoever you are and wherever you may be on your journey of faith, you are welcome here.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us on our webpage. As you get to know us better, you will find Holy Spirit to be a community of faith ready to meet your spiritual needs through worship, study, ministries, and fellowship. Holy Spirit is one of the newest parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. We were founded in 2002 and began as a storefront church on Highway 31 in Alabaster. Now, we have close to 200 baptized members, and we are growing. One of the things people love most about Holy Spirit is that, as soon as you walk through the door, you feel like part of the family. We believe our shared life together as a Christian family continues to empower us to nurture each other’s growth in Christ and to have an impact on the wider community and the world. We hope to meet you in person soon! This page will provide helpful information for your first visit. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Helpful Information for Guests
Parking at Church
When you arrive, parking is available in our main parking lot. There are spaces reserved for handicapped parking located near the front door of the main building (the building with the red doors).
Greeters and Ushers
Just inside the entrance to the main building is the Narthex (a fancy name for entryway). In the Narthex, you will find a greeter who will welcome you and provide for you helpful information about our church. You will also find an usher who will provide you with a worship bulletin and help you find a place to sit during the service. The worship bulletin, along with the hymnals that we use during the 10:30 service, is all you will need in order to participate in worship. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask a greeter or usher, and they will be able to assist you.
Nursery Care and Children’s Chapel
Nursery care for children (ages four and under) is available in our nursery, which is located in the Parish Hall (the building next to the main building). For the safety of our children, there are always at least two staff members present in the nursery. Children’s Chapel (for ages four through second grade) provides an age-appropriate lesson based on the readings from Scripture appointed for the day. All children are invited to participate in Children’s Chapel, which takes place during the first half of the 10:30 service every Sunday. There is no Children’s Chapel offered during the 8:30 service.
